Purpose and Scope:

Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operations, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis, or review team.

Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer 1 for the Aiken, SC office.

Perform hazard analysis, development of technical documents or review of facility activities in specific areas under supervision of experienced Fire Protection Engineers.

Assist in the review of facility modifications for compliance with applicable fire protection codes and standards.

Review fire protection system designs and modifications for compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Perform life safety evaluations for building modifications.

Assist in the preparation of technical reports.

Review fire protection system inspection, testing, and maintenance records.

Additional Information:

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and background.

Minimum Requirements

Must have obtained a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering.

Zero (0) to two (2) years of job-related experience or equivalent.

Capable of applying Protection Engineering principles to problems ranging from simple code consulting to unique and complex technical problems.

Familiar with NFPA codes and standards, evaluation of fire protection programs and facilities.

Candidate must be eligible to obtain a DOE Q clearance and access to Commercial Nuclear Facilities.

Candidate must be able to travel on business as needed.
