SC Department of Public Safety Electronics Technician II HD10 *61036311* D6-Traffic Signals in Charleston County, South Carolina
Utilize Streetwise and ATMS.now softwares to program signal controllers. Sets up and test traffic signal cabinet in shop for field installation. Replaces existing cabinets, poles, pedestals, wiring and signal heads as required due to damage. Responds to regular traffic signal complaints as well as after-hours emergency calls promptly making necessary repairs. Installs and repairs flashers maintained by District Six Traffic Signal. Performs preventative maintenance and inspection on traffic signal equipment to include preemption. Inspects intersections installed, repaired and rebuilt by contractors, ensuring all specifications are met. Maintains record of daily activities and quantities used on traffic signal and/or roadway lighting contracts. Performs related duties as directed by supervisor.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and six (6) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic or electromechanical equipment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid drivers license is required.
