An Electrician Apprentice assists in the installation of electrical equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.

Electrical Apprentices are employees and have basic employee responsibilities. This level Apprentice will be given instruction and work experience installing basic equipment which involves using hand tools and power tools, a basic understanding of electrical blueprints, and knowledge of the NEC. Additionally, each apprentice must make every effort to become a well-qualified journeyperson. This position requires registration for related instruction courses, attending class regularly, and being on time for both work and apprenticeship school.

Responsible for but not limited to any of the following:

  • Assisting in pulling various types of wiring.

  • Assisting in Site Grounding

  • Assisting in Duct Bank installation.

  • Assisting with Manhole installation.

  • Assisting in Pulling Medium Voltage Cable

  • Assisting in Prefab Assembly installation.

  • Assisting with Generator Install

  • Assisting in installing ½” to 1-1/4” Conduit

  • Assisting in installing 1-1/2: to 5” conduit

  • Assisting in Core Drilling

  • Assisting in the installation of Cable Tray.

  • Assisting in Pulling All MC sizes.

  • Installing Light fixtures

  • Installing Devices

  • Assisting in the Termination of all 600 Volt wiring.

  • Assisting in the installation of Busduct.

  • Installing Temp power Pre Fab Assemblies.

  • Assisting in the Temp power maintenance lighting and power.

  • Bending Conduit ½” to 1 ¼” with Hand Bender.

  • Removing Temp power

  • Maintaining clean work area.

  • Securing company tools daily

  • Conducting monthly tool checks

  • Participating in Job site clean up

  • Handling material.

  • Preparing the work area.

  • Demonstrating effective use of hand tools such as drill motors, sawzalls, hydraulic knockouts punches, etc.

  • Wearing all Personal Safety Equipment

  • Following safety policies and rules

  • Reading, understanding and demonstrating use of Activity Hazard Analysis

  • Demonstrating proper use and care of tools

  • Displaying understanding of and following material safeguarding and storage practices

  • Displaying understanding of and following equipment safety, safeguarding and storage.

  • Assisting in all size wire pulling.

  • Participating actively in Daily work briefings.


  • Valid Driver's License

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Reliable Transportation

  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test

  • Clean driving record

  • Vocational school or electrical training is a plus.


  • Lifting at least 50 pounds at one time.

  • Relocating a twelve-foot stepladder without assistance as required.

  • May use standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.

  • Working at various heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.

  • Walking, climbing, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.

Possessing adequate vision (may be corrected vision), and the ability to hear and communicate in English.


  • Any prior experience in the electrical trades or experience with electrical codes

  • OSHA Certified

  • CPR Certified

  • First Aid Certified

  • This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.
