Job Description

Volt is seeking a Life Cycle Cost Analyst to work on the Cost Estimating & Analysis Team. This team performs cost analysis and develops cost estimates for government/military systems providing our program management critical cost insight for decision-making. These costs include areas such as military/civilian/contract labor, material/hardware, software, subcontracts/vendors, government-furnished items, and travel/shipping. Using programmatic, technical, and cost data (i.e. labor, material, overhead) as inputs, our Team calculates cost for all program phases of the system to include conceptual & technology development, production, operations & support/maintenance, and disposal. Cost is organized by a work breakdown and/or cost element structure and is calculated, modified, and maintained in an automated cost model.

COST ANALYST Position Requirements:

  • Perform comprehensive cost analysis and modeling in support of acquisition requirements. Utilize and correctly apply appropriate cost estimating methodologies, and develop logical cost estimates that are defendable and supportable.

  • Perform a variety of cost and economic analyses to include parametric cost estimating, life cycle cost analysis, cost estimating relationship development, cost benefit analyses, analysis of alternatives, cost risk analysis, project forecasting, cost-benefit analysis and software cost estimating.

  • Conduct cost analysis using a variety of modeling techniques to include parametric analysis, engineering estimates, cost estimating relationships, cost factors, learning curve analysis, and cost risk analysis.

  • Contribute effectively to working groups through oral and written communication and cooperative working relationships.


Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Math, Operations Research, Economics, Finance, or a similar discipline. 5 years of related experience is required.

A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.

Skills Desired:

  • Proficiency in use of cost estimating and risk tools such as ACEIT, SEER-SEM, @RISK and Crystal Ball.

  • Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A)

Security Clearance:

Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
