Description/Job Summary

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time General Maintenance Worker III. The General Maintenance Worker III will perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (with moderate proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Required Education

A minimum of a high school diploma (HSD) or equivalent is required for this position, plus seven (7) years of experience.

Required Qualifications

Below are required and preferred qualifications for this position.

  • Seven (7) years of experience performing general maintenance and repair of facilities equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.

  • Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Answer after-hours emergency calls and be available to work overtime as needed

  • Must be able to manage work load on a daily basis with little supervision

  • Must be able to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and managing heavy work loads

  • EPA Certification preferred

  • Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one, preferred but not required.

  • Federal Government experience a plus.

Physical Requirements of this position include:

  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to climb and work from ladders

  • Stooping, standing, climbing and frequently lifting equipment (pump, tools, ladders) with a minimum of 50 lbs

  • Maintain professional appearance at all times
