Responsibilities and Requirements of the role:

  • Keep up to date with changes in relevant Safety and Health (Ergonomics) ensuring implementation and monitoring of regulations.

  • Support and training to all to the country group related sites and offices

  • As scheduled and required, periodically review metrics and prepare monthly performance reports for local, corporate consultation and continuous performance improvements. Ergonomic and Accidents (LWC, RC, NM, UCA)

  • Lead the implementation and execution Safety and Health (Ergonomics) processes, procedures and standards of WABCO.

  • Support the Implementation of Safety Health related ISO standards where applicable

  • Perform OHSAS 18001 audits

  • Execute Ergonomic assessments following BRIEF/BEST/NOISH together with other functions

  • Develop, implement and review an appropriate risk management and disaster recovery strategy to ensure protection of the location and its occupants. Identification and inventory of organizational bottle-necks

  • Provide day-to-day technical Safety and Health (Ergonomics) advice and consultation to employees and contractors.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with all levels of management, peers and factory employees. Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering, PAM, Legal, HR, Finance

  • Conduct Safety and Health risks assessments and analyses for the complete WABCO site

  • Lead incident investigations (first aid, near misses, recordable, environmental and property damage) using a team-based approach to problem solving and six sigma tools (QR6S) to effectively implement corrective actions.

  • Work and communicate with injured employees, medical professionals, claims staff and others to obtain the necessary information to make medical assessments in the best interest of employees and the company.

  • Actively participate in WABCO Corporate Safety and Health (Ergonomics) teleconferences and workshops to share best practices and to improve local on-going operations.

  • Demonstrate strong human relation and communication skills as they are necessary to perform your job successfully as it requires the ability to work successfully with employees throughout the company.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Safety and Health science or a related technical field.

  • Certified in/or capable of obtaining Health and Safety country based certification

  • Knowledge in Management systems OHSAS 18001, HumanTech Ergonomics and other relevant standards.

  • Internal Auditor in OHSAS 18001

  • Knowledge of applicable national, laws, regulations, rules, policies, and procedures (incl European ATEX, CE, Reach).

  • Knowledge and skill in using a variety of computer software, including word· processing, database, and spread et applications.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in communication and· persuasion

  • Multiple language English as minimum

  • 5+ years of industrial work experience in Safety and Health (Ergonomics) field.
