Job Description


The Associate Vice President of Facilities Management leads the McLeod Health engineering and facilities team in support of McLeod Health’s mission, vision, values, and business objectives. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe and functional Environment of Care (EOC); nurturing a culture of continuous improvement; establishing proactive mechanisms to ensure safe and proper maintenance of all McLeod Health campuses and facilities, including buildings, grounds and contents; identifying and correcting regulatory deficiencies and ensuring regulatory compliance; supervising of McLeod Health engineering and grounds personnel; overseeing and ensuring fiscal responsibility for all McLeod Health engineering and grounds maintenance departments, and performing other duties as assigned.


A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction, Facilities Management or Construction Management is preferred or equivalent work experience of ten (10) years in facilities, construction, or related field is required.


Effective oral and written communication skills; Strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications; Experience managing a team of greater than 50 employees; Strong demonstrated contract negotiation skills; Expert presentation, meeting management, and communication skills; Thorough knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems; Technical knowledge of all building management services; Ability to work with a large, diverse group of employees and suppliers; Competent working knowledge of South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control health care regulations and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code; Ability to maintain confidentiality; prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in decisions within the scope of authority; and to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires excellent visual perception and the ability to hear, write, and communicate effectively; site in front of and work at a computer for extended periods of time; to travel to McLeod Health facilities; and to bend, life and carry objects of varying size weighing up to 25 pounds.
