Legrand NA Industrial Engineer Intern in Fort Mill, South Carolina

Legrand has a great opportunity for an Engineering Intern in Fort Mill, SC. The Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting the Logistics Engineering Department with continuous improvement initiatives, time studies, process mapping, and data analysis.

What Will You Do?

MAIN JOB DUTIES:

  • Data Analysis: R or Python for data analysis, predictive modeling, data aggregation/summarization

  • Automated reporting: Use VBA or R to create reports then store in Access, SQL Server

  • Root Cause Investigation: Both manual investigation and data analysis to determine root cause of inventory inaccuracies within the facility

  • Process improvement: Time studies, standard operating procedure documentation, process mapping

  • Manual and systematic data collection

  • Process optimization

  • Ability to communicate

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Meet critical deadlines

  • Interact with managers, staff, and floor workers

Required Skills

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: Junior or Senior in an accredited Bachelor’s program. Minimum GPA 3.2

EXPERIENCE:

  • None

SKILLS/KNOWELDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Creative approach to problem solving based on solid theoretical skill.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Some experience with Access, and SQL.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have an acceptable level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Prepare written and verbal reports.

  • Conduct engineering studies/investigations.
