Environmental Health Safety Manager

Permanent position: Multi-national manufacturer in the automotive industry seeks an ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MANAGER for its manufacturing operations located north of GREENVILLE, SC. The ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MANAGER is responsible to manage, advise and report on the compliance of the organization with applicable environmental laws to support operations in the manufacture and distribution of the company's product line. Responsibilities for the Environmental Health Safety Manager

  • Possess and maintain expert knowledge of and familiarity with environmental laws and regulations applicable to company's business operations and facilities supporting such operations.

  • Prepare, obtain, and maintain all permits and other approvals needed from governmental agencies for company's business operations.

  • Serve as the organization's management representative to applicable governmental environmental agencies at all levels (including with regard to governmental inspections, audits, findings, enforcement or other legal actions).

Requirements for the Environmental Health Safety Manager

  • BS Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related discipline (MS preferred) with 10+ years experience in environmental management in a manufacturing setting

  • Solid background in air (Title V, PSD, MACT, NSPS), waste (solid and hazardous waste management), water, (wastewater, stormwater, SPCC) and CERCLA/EPCRA (including Tier II).

  • Demonstrated environmental auditor experience including knowledge of automotive manufacturing industry processes, chemical handling aspects, labeling requirements and disposal techniques
