Job Responsibilities *This is a re-advertisement. Previous applicants are still being considered for this position and do not need to re-apply* Serves as crew leader when crew is dispersed; may direct ditching and machining shoulder operations. Serves as crew leader and performs skilled manual labor in grading, setting forms and pouring and finishing concrete for curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, hand rails, slabs, construction of catch basins and drop inlets. Splices piles and places reinforcing steel as necessary. Operates heavy equipment such as motor graders in ditching, shoulder operations, grading and machining roads, driveway installation or snow and ice removal. Assumes foreman’s duties and responsibilities during his absence. Assist with daily records of work performed and materials used, records such as HMMS and the maintenance requests and complaint forms. Instructs crewmembers daily in safety practices such as flagging operations, wearing safety equipment, vehicle safety, or job site hazards. Assists Crew Foreman as needed. Performs other related job duties as requested or assigned by supervisor. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, to include operating medium or heavy duty equipment. May include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts. Minimum and Additional Requirements Two (2) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. Necessary Special Requirement: Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
