SC Department of Public Safety Trades Specialist IV (Electrical Assistant) in Laurens County, South Carolina
To perform and maintain as a specialist in appliances, TV's, generators, electrical circuitry and life safety applications.
- Services, repairs and performs preventive maintenance on appliances, installs and services TV's and all components, operates and performs preventive maintenance on generators, service and repair of Whitten Center's street lights, hangs Christmas lighting, trouble shoot two way radio issues, performs test and inspections of life safety applications, including smoke/heat detectors and fire alarm panels, emergency lighting, works out of bucket truck, in crawl spaces, attics, and off of ladders, service and repairs of retherm units.
- Uses voltage, ohm, amp and other electrical metering devices to check and troubleshoot.
- Keeps accurate and organized data for all life safety inspections, generators, parts check in and inventory.
- Performs other related duties. Minimum and Additional Requirements
Employee must have a high school education or equivalent. Experience in electrical circuitry, appliance repair, and life safety applications to include (fire alarms / sprinkler systems).
Employee should have the ability to read equipment schematics, repair and install appliances, repair and install lighting fixtures, install and connect televisions and components, operate generators, document and maintain accurate records and performs task alone.
