Job Responsibilities

INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

Supervises crew paving driveways with asphalt. Ensures that driveways are paved with proper radii, asphalt thickness, and width. Paves large areas with paving machine. Ensures area is dressed before leaving the job site. Supervises a crew who patch roadways with AMZ paving machine daily. Maintains adequate knowledge of machine and its operation to reduce down time. Supervises maintenance workers that repair and patch pot holes by hand using cold mix. Ensures the area is properly squared off, mix placed, leveled, and compacted to leave a smooth finish product. Investigates, recommends, and takes corrective action in regards to complaints and/or work requests for maintenance by the general public. Speaks with the public about problems and uses their own judgment in deciding what action to take. Advises complainant of the disposition and scheduling of the work. Supervises vehicles and equipment. Operates and trains employees to run the slope mower, backhoe, and roller machine. Ensures all safety equipment required is used properly. Supervises a crew mowing and maintaining site distances for the safety of motorists by the use of a boom mower and lope mower. Monitors and sees that minimum production levels are met and all safety precautions are used. Cuts tree limbs that are blocking the view and hazardous. Enforces the disciplinary action policy of the department, completes EPMS, and maintains accurate time records, and Preventive maintenance records for all employees under supervision. Completes daily work reports and time sheets. Enters daily work reports into HMMS. Responsible for inventory of equipment and tools. Assists with overseeing the Pelion shed and crew when Foreman is absent. On call one week at a time, several times during the year, for after hour emergencies including weekends.

This Position is located at District 1 Lexington Maintenance

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and three (3) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. Necessary Special Requirement: Requires a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
