Job Responsibilities

  • Installs and maintains video and data networks, to include associated analog and IP equipment throughout the agency.
  • Performs physical planning design and documentation of both network and electrical systems.
  • Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams to determine material and equipment needs.
  • Requires a strong electrical background to include installation of 110v/220v electrical systems.
  • Prefer experience in conduit installation in a commercial setting (emt/ridgid/flex).
  • Have knowledge of NEC and/or EIT/TIA standards.
  • Must have or acquire a class A or B CDL within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must complete four (4) weeks basic training.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina minimum requirements: An associate's degree and professional experience directly related to the area of employment.(or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

SCDC minimum requirements: A high school diploma and five (5) years of experience in the working knowledge of principles and techniques directly related to the area of employment.

Additional Comments

Must attend SCDC Basic Training.
