Assists in development and review of the point source inventory. Reviews, evaluates, and calculates data provided by regulated facilities and updates information in the state air database. Ensures all inventory-related activities are performed within the established procedures. Performs technical duties pertaining to the calculation and collection of new source fees and annual fees for permitted sources. Performs record keeping, investigates permits and related files to determine allowables, and ensures facilities are billed appropriately. Contacts facility representatives to explain fees and fee determination.
Processes facility requests for access to emissions inventory reporting system. Maintains record of data submissions, evaluates submissions for completeness, and assists facilities in meeting reporting requirements. Creates and updates spreadsheets or other tracking mechanisms to document compliance with reporting and other requirements.
Oversees, updates, and maintains facility-level data and emissions and billing contacts in the section's database to provide effective communication with regulated community. Communication efforts may include mass mail-outs, email blasts, and/ or individual contact.
Designs and modifies technical reports, spreadsheets, and summaries for the public, consultants, industrialists, and internal customers. Coordinates with senior staff and the FOI office to provide a timely and accurate response to requests. Oversees electronic archiving of section data.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
*State Minimum Requirements: *Some positions require the possession of a valid driver's license. Some positions require the successful completion of specialized courses in health physics or certification as a health physicist. A high school diploma and experience in environmental health programs or radiological health. A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or a related technical field may be substituted for the required work experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
*Agency Additional Requirements: * A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field; or an associate degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field and two years of environmental health or related experience; or high school diploma and four years of environmental health or related experience.

Knowledge and work experience with emissions inventory, regulated facilities, and Federal and State air quality regulations. Experience with reviewing environmental compliance reports, performing or providing quality assurance of complex calculations, conducting public presentations or training workshops, and using databases/tools to track environmental data. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both an oral and written manner, and strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel are required.
DRIVING RECORD:If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
