Minimum Training & Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent, preferably supplemented by special course work in electricity, and some experience in work providing a familiarity with electrical line work. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
A valid Driver's License is required. A CDL is preferred and the ability to obtain one within six months is required.
Note: Position Requires Rotating and Emergency Call Duty
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in line construction and maintenance work.
Knowledge of the principles of electric theory as applied to electrical circuits and wire systems.
Ability to do strenuous manual work under varying weather conditions.
Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrates appropriate customer service skills.
This is manual and limited skilled work in providing varied services to an electric line crew.
Work in close proximity to voltages up to 25kv by following required safety procedures for the purpose of substation operation, and main circuit feeder switching.
Assists in underground locating, meter shop and generator maintenance.
Assists with installation and maintenance of traffic signals and school flashing zones.
Performs all other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational needs.
