The Electronics Technician I applies basic technical knowledge to perform routine tasks following detailed instructions.
This position performs tasks such as: replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing electronic equipment, and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
This position also performs required periodic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and use of test equipment as required.
The Electronics Technician I works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician.
Work is checked frequently for accuracy.
Work is often performed at operational Air Traffic Control (ATC) facilities on ATC systems where extreme awareness is critical and the highest level of safety and caution must be exercised to eliminate risk to aircraft safety.
Position requires High School diploma or equivalent. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
Position requires two (2) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.
Tower Climbing experience/certification preferred.
Forklift operator experience/certification preferred.
Ability to travel as necessary.
Applicants must successfully maintain Active Secret Clearance and pass a drug screening.
This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens
