SC Department of Public Safety Painter/ Trades Specialist III in Sumter County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, performs duties related to painting, repairs, maintenance or renovations of buildings and equipment. Paints and trims interior and exterior of buildings; assists maintenance staff with renovations and minor construction projects; assists in the repair of plumbing such as leaks, clogged sinks, toilets, and sewer lines; makes estimates and places orders on paint and materials for all non-contracted painting jobs; inspects facilities for condition of paint and other wall coverings; performs preventive maintenance on equipment; assists in minor repairs on equipment and buildings such as carpentry and minor electrical; and performs other duties as required. Requires a valid driver's license and travel to other campuses.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

High School diploma and two (2) years directly related work experience; or 10th grade education and four (4) years directly related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional painting experience.
