Job Description

As the Facilities Maintenance Lead, you will perform complex repairs, modifications and, preventative maintenance on building and facilities, equipment, fixtures and systems.

In this role, you will be trusted to:

  • Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of carpentry, painting, plastering.

  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking, blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.

  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.

  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe, systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.

  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

  • Record, type and cost of maintenance or repair work.

  • Coordinates projects, prepare proposals, cost estimates, and manages the associated work of outside contractors.

  • Provides work leadership for lower level maintenance mechanics through assignment of work. Provides technical guidance and review of assignment progress.


  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Requires at least 8 years related experience.

  • Expert knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Expert knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of, buildings, or other structures.

  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Able to move at least 50 lbs.
